Quick Answer
The Michigan Clean Slate Act expanded who can petition to have a conviction set aside. Most misdemeanors become eligible 3 years after sentence completion; serious misdemeanors after 5 years; most felonies after 7 years. Up to three felonies and several misdemeanors can be set aside. Sex offenses, traffic offenses causing injury or death, life-maximum offenses, and certain other crimes are excluded.
