Quick Answer
What is an O-1 visa?
The O-1 is a nonimmigrant work visa for individuals with extraordinary ability in the sciences, education, business, or athletics (O-1A) or extraordinary ability or achievement in the arts, film, or television (O-1B). It is filed on Form I-129 by a U.S. employer or a U.S. agent — not by the worker alone — and usually needs an advisory opinion (consultation letter) from a peer group or labor organization. O-1A applicants generally show at least 3 of 8 criteria; O-1B applicants at least 3 of 6. Initial approval can be for up to 3 years. Clear Path Document Services prepares the forms and organizes the evidence; we are not attorneys.

Some situations need legal judgment, not paperwork help. Call us anyway — we will tell you honestly whether document preparation fits, and point you toward an independent attorney when it does not.
- You don't yet have a U.S. employer or agent willing to petition
- You have a prior visa refusal, overstay, or status violation
- You need to change status inside the U.S. on a tight deadline
